A compact, rugged and versatile handheld computer, the Recon runs a Windows Pocket PC 2003 operating system allowing a range of mobile GIS software to be run on the system. The Recon is available in a 200MHz or 400MHz processor option, with a corresponding 64Mb and 128 Mb of RAM nonvolatile flash storage. The Recon may be teamed with Pathfinder receivers as a data logger for receiving satellite differential data or AMSA beacon signals. The machine also features the ability to plug in a compact flash GPS card creating a rugged autonomous unit for datalogging. The flexibility of this handheld is enhanced by Bluetooth wireless technology and an all day battery.
